The Vascular Clinic
Modern Treatments
Vein problems range in severity from tiny thread veins to very big varicose veins complicated by leg ulcers. We offer a range of treatments including modern minimally invasive treatments for varicose veins, tailored to each individual patient’s problem.
Personalised Care by a Qualified Vascular Surgeon
I am, on the specialist register with the Irish Medical Council, and have an interest in vascular and venous disease, and can therefore offer you comprehensive treatment for varicose veins, thread veins and other vascular conditions. The most modern methods of diagnosis and management of vein disorders are used, which usually allow early return to activity when compared with conventional surgery.
I carry out all procedures myself in in one of my affiliated hospitals: St Vincent’s Private Hospital, St Vincent’s University Hospital (Both JCI accredited) or St Michael’s Hospital.
Full Follow-up Service and peace of mind
In the unlikely event of any problems, full follow-up is available in St Vincent’s healthcare group, where a consultant vascular surgeon is on-call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Vascular Screening Service
We offer vascular screening in which the blood vessels of the body are studied systematically by colour duplex ultrasound imaging. This detects early narrowing of the arteries allowing changes of lifestyle or specific interventions to be undertaken to prevent the damage that may result from an artery which suddenly becomes blocked or enlarged.
Other Vascular Disorders
As well as managing varicose veins, I also manage many other vascular conditions including:
- Carotid artery disease
- Aneurysmal disease (including endovascular treatment)
- Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD) of the leg (open and endovascualar)
- Diabetic foot disease
- Venous ulcer disease
- Deep vein occlusion/incompetence
- Raynaud’s disease
- Renal access
- Arteriovenous malformations
- Lymphoedema
